"Skrill was way more trouble than it was worth"
I tried using skrill to take payments on my small online shop, it turned into a constant headache. One customer’s card would get declined for no clear reason, another payment would be held, then someone else would message me confused because their checkout didn’t go through, and I’d be stuck trying to explain something I didn’t understand either. Support wasn’t much help either, it felt like I kept getting the same copy-paste replies, like “please wait,” “check your account,” or “review our policy,” but no real answer. I ended up with annoyed customers, abandoned carts, delayed orders, and lost sales. Maybe skrill works fine for sending money to friends or certain businesses, but for actually running merchant payments on a shop, it felt unreliable, frustrating, and not worth the hassle

"Pretty good and cleaaar enough"
I use Skrill every now and then for sending money and paying online, and it’s been smooth. I do like that the fees and limits usually show up before I hit confirm, so I’m not sitting there later like, wait whaaat did I just get charged for? The terms page is a bit loooong, but that’s kind of normal with finance stuff. At least the important bits don’t feel totally buried. I do think the currency fees and withdrawal charges could be explained in simpler, more normal words though. Overall, it feels fairly transparent and easy enough to use, just not perfect. I’d give it 4 stars.

I’ve used Skrill a handful of times for deposits and it’s usually gone through without much fuss. One time it did take longer than I thought it would, which was kinda annoying, but nothing too crazy. Overall it works fine, just wish it was a bit more consistent.

My quick take: skrill has been easy for card payments. I mostly use it when I want to pay by card, and so far the payments usually go through fast without making me redo everything.
I’m knocking it down to 4 stars because the verification or loading screen can feel a bit slow sometimes. Not a dealbreaker, though — overall it’s simple enough and works fine for what I need...

Just a heads up for anyone planning to withdraw: mine took a few days to come through, which was frustrating. I wasn’t too happy with the wait, so I’d suggest not leaving it until you urgently need the money.

They did handle my ID in the end, but it felt like more effort than it should’ve been. I had to spend extra time following up and making sure everything was actually moving along. It worked out eventually, but the process could’ve been a lot smoother

"My money is on hold again"
My money has been stuck on hold for days now, and I still haven’t been given a clear reason why. I contacted support, but the replies feel like the same copy-and-paste message each time, which isn’t very helpful. I get that checks happen, but it’s really frustrating when you can’t access your own funds and nobody can properly explain what’s going on. I don’t think I’ll be using Skrill again.

I signed up and had to verify my account with my ID and address, which took about a day. I’ll be honest, I was a bit confused at first, but support got back to me and helped clear things up. Once I was approved, everything worked like it should. Solid experience overall, 4 stars from me.

It does what it’s supposed to do, so I can’t say it’s totally bad. But the limits are just annoying. Like, really annoying. I kept running into them over and over, and it gets frustrating fast. It works, sure, but the limits make it feel way less useful than it should be

skrill is usually fine for me, but the bank transfers are kind of hit or miss?? Sometimes the money shows up quickly, and other times it takes way longer than I expected with barely any updates. It’s not awful or anything, I just wish it felt a bit more consistent.

Ive used Skrill a bit and the site feels straightforward. Logging in, checking my balance, and finding account settings were all where I figured theyd be. Pages loaded fast for me too. A few sections could be worded a little clearer, but I didnt really feel confused or stuck while using it.

I’ve used Skrill for payments and overall it works fine. The transactions usually go through without much hassle, which is what I need most of the time. My only real complaint is that the fees can feel a bit high here and there (especially if you’re using it often). It’s not a bad service at all, I just wish it were a little cheaper.

Since over 6 months the 2000 usd deposit was frozen and i could neither pay online nor use my skill credit card. numerous online complaints, emails and telephone calls did not help. several times i sent them proof of residence, utility bills, all to no avail. the recently changed telephone number +44 203 3032526 gets you voicemail requesting to leave a message instead of a living person for advice. i believe it is a scam system. nic@iljine.net
